Grab your smoking jacket! The first time I met the dashingly elegant Jeremy Hackett, founder of HACKETT LONDON, many years ago, he and I were walking our spaniels on a green just off New King’s Road, where his original store was located in a charming olde worlde boutique. Dressed in town and country tweeds, Jeremy looked the perfect gentleman – a cross between James Bond and Bertie Wooster, in the nicest possible way – and the best ambassador imaginable for his emerging lifestyle brand. More recently when I spoke with Jeremy, in late December of last year, he was on his way to Claridges for pre-Christmas cocktails, immaculately dressed in black tie from his collection and accessorised with a vintage Cartier timepiece…
TIME FLIES: In between these two memorable occasions mentioned above, Jeremy has moved his headquarters to Savile Row, adopted two Sussex spaniels, ‘Muffin’ and ‘Harry’ (see bottom of page) and developed his passions for classic cars, cigars, architecture, watches and photography; he has had a couple of books published on style, another featuring his dogs and written articles about cars and watches for various magazines…
Over the years, there have been collaborations between HACKETT LONDON and prestige luxury brands including Aston Martin, Tagheuer, Swatch, D.R Harris and Fox Umbrellas. Jeremy celebrated this New Year with a classic LEOUBE gin and tonic ‘shaken not stirred’ 007-style, and is occasionally known to enjoy a glass of champagne, or two, at home in Belgravia (see details below) or while out and about at London’s most notable events.
