AUTUMN/WINTER GARDENS: SAINT JAMES PARIS

One of the main assets of the luxury chateau hotel Saint James Paris is ‘La Terrasse’, the large terrace in the walled gardens of the property – a place to take lunch meetings and enjoy afternoon tea or evening cocktails surrounded by the scent of white flowers and sound of birdsong, a crackling fire pit warming the cool air…

The trellised structure of the dining terrace is painted an identical green to that designed by Tim Gosling of Chateau Restoration for eco-paint company Graphenstone: ’French Trellis Green’ (see further down the page).

Lush foliage and white flowering plants surrounding the terrace look beautiful during the summer months (above, left), however during colder months tropical planting may need to be supplemented using faux foliage such as that regularly produced for hotels, spas and residential properties by Easiwall (above, right). In the South of France the entire look can be recreated for your property by Nazarian Espaces Vert, the company responsible for the landscaping with palms, scented shrubs and white flowers at The Martinez Hotel in Cannes.

The carpet panels of grass embedded into the terracing, above left, at Saint James Paris are made of real grass; you can achieve the same immaculately groomed and well maintained appearance all year round using high quality biodegradable faux grass by Easigrass (see above, right – pictured at one of their projects in England).
