MALIBU

MALIBU is a short drive up the Californian coast on PCH and has long time been a weekend escape from the city for the Hollywood elite. Over the past 15 years, or so, the area had developed from a laid back community to one where the pivotal points are made up of Malibu Farm, Nobu and Soho House – in other words, the social life now extends beyond the beach, horse riding and cocktails at Moonshadows. On first appearances, it looks like there is still not a huge amount going on in Malibu, however behind the anonymous walls lining Pacific Coast Highway, and the winding roads that lead up to the ranch houses in the hills and canyons, there are some of the most beautiful residences to be found – contemporary white and glass, traditional weatherboard clad, olde world farm houses… I’ve a long time relationship with the area, having once lived in a house on Carbon Beach rented from the legendary Freddie Fields and I’ve since then visited for months at a time… one of the scented candles in my Nicky Summer Bougie collection is inspired and directly named after the area: ’MALIBU – the beach’. Along with my partners in the area, I help those who are looking for a home in the area to secure exactly what they’re looking for, whether up in the Santa Monica Mountains or directly ocean facing on the beach.
