Over the years, our work has taken us across four continents, capturing celebrations for incredible clients, including the Qatari royal family, well-known entrepreneurs, and athletes…”
Jacob & Pauline, Wedding Photographers
Jacob & Pauline are a dynamic husband-and-wife team, comprising a talented videographer and photographer based in London, England. Their partnership, which has flourished over the past sixteen years, began at art school, where they first crossed paths. Since then, they have worked collaboratively, merging their artistic visions and expertise. In this discussion, we discuss their entry into the realm of exclusive weddings, as well as their distinctive approach to capturing the essence of these cherished occasions…
C&B: “Jacob, Pauline – what first inspired you to specialise in luxury weddings, and how has your background shaped your approach to photography and videography?”
J&P: “Specialising in luxury weddings happened naturally over time. We started at the very bottom of the industry and grew step by step into this world. It wasn’t something we consciously decided on; we’ve always aimed for our work to be unique and recognisable, and it naturally evolved into something that resonates with the luxury market…”

Mostly, we’re booked for both photography and videography, but as much as we love working as a team, we also offer each service separately. Coming from an art and film school background, we’ve always valued the spirit of collaboration, and working alongside other talented photographers, videographers, and creatives has been incredibly inspiring. Every wedding we’ve captured individually has brought something new back into our shared work…”

C&B: “Can you describe your creative process when capturing the essence of a luxury wedding?”
J&P: “Every creative partner puts an enormous amount of work into the day to bring the client’s vision to life, and we want that collective effort to be seen and captured exactly as it was intended as a whole. The key is to balance every part of the wedding – the setting, the energy, and the people – and make it all seen and felt within a single photograph or frame, one after another. We carry this approach throughout the day while adding the magic of natural moments. The final gallery then becomes a perfect reflection of the client’s vision brought to life…”

There’s another layer of creativity in filming that comes through in the edit. Every wedding has something distinct – something about the couple, their family, or the atmosphere – that allow us to shape a film that feels entirely their own. That becomes the core of the story; we often recognise it while filming, and from that moment, we shape how we capture everything else around it while still allowing the day to unfold naturally. This is what makes every film one of a kind and deeply connected to the couple it belongs to…”

C&B: “As you mentioned, many individuals are involved in creating the ambience of any major event or wedding. How do you approach collaborating with the other vendors and planners to ensure a seamless experience for the couple and their guests?”
J&P: “We follow a simple rule: the needs of planners and other vendors always come first. From there, we adapt our work to them while maintaining its consistency and quality. It’s been a long time since we started, and we’ve learned that teamwork is the key to success. And when it comes to an emergency, we’re always happy to step out of our roles and help with whatever it takes to keep the couple’s experience seamless…”

Our favourite venues in the UK include Kensington Palace, with its connection to the British royal family. Travelling for weddings has become a natural part of our work. A four-day celebration in Barbados and a wedding at Palais Ronsard in Marrakech stand out as some of our most memorable experiences. Each destination offers something different, and those influences often find their way back into how we see and create…”

C&B: “How do you maintain a balance between candid moments and directed shots while documenting the day of the wedding?”
J&P: “Working together for so many years has made our process second nature. We adapt to each wedding individually, but there’s always a clear structure we follow, knowing exactly where to focus at each part of the day. Carefully listening to our clients’ needs before their wedding day helps us understand what they value and expect. At the same time, no two days ever unfold the same way – schedules shift, light changes, and we love that unpredictability. Our approach remains flexible, ensuring we deliver what’s expected while never adding unnecessary pressure on the couple or the team. Over the years, we’ve learned to work efficiently, capturing everything we need in half the time it once took without compromising what we create. As much as our couples enjoy being in front of the camera, fully experiencing their wedding day will always come first…”
C&B: “What type of video/photo packages do you offer your clients?”
J&P: “We always begin by listening to our clients. Every couple has its own priorities, and understanding those from the very start is essential. We want to know what matters most to them. From there, we start shaping a proposal that reflects their vision, ensuring they revisit their wedding as they envisioned it…”
C&B: “One final question: You’re well known for your thoughtfulness… how do you make your couples feel extra-special?”
J&P: “Our clients’ experience doesn’t end when the wedding day does. We love surprising them with a small photography or film gift waiting at their honeymoon hotel – something personal to make their stay even more special. We do the same for their first anniversary, a little reminder of the day that started it all…”
