MAISON NR: DESTINATIONS

Our style is timeless, epicurean, immersive and, above all, guest-oriented. My couples’ happiness is essential, but I believe their guests’ experience is just as important. Guests bring the energy, create spontaneous moments and ultimately contribute to the magic of the celebration. I love taking care of them and creating those little details that make them feel genuinely welcomed. For me, all these elements come together to create a true Maison NR experience. And I believe we naturally attract clients who share our energy and values…”

Nadia Rasolofomasoandro, Founder and Destination Experience Director, Maison NR

Nadia Rasolofomasoandro, is Founder and Destination Experience Director of Maison NR, a boutique destination experience agency specialising in multi-day gatherings for discerning private clients, luxury brands and international companies. Based in Dubai, the company has a strong presence across Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, the South of France, the Alps and Marrakech. Here we discuss everything from perfect cocktails, music, and dream destinations…

C&B: “Nadia, how do your clients find you and how many weddings do you plan per year?”

NR: “Word-of-mouth and personal recommendations are my best marketing tools. There is no stronger endorsement than a past client or trusted partner recommending Maison NR. I limit myself to twelve carefully selected projects per year. I strongly believe in quality over quantity. Luxury is not only about exclusivity: it is also about time. I want the privilege of truly getting to know my clients beyond Pinterest boards and emails, to listen, understand their story and be fully immersed in their vision. That level of connection and trust is what allows me to bring their vision to life authentically…”

We often work with outdoor settings and places with a strong sense of character – from a historic château courtyard to a stone quarry or an abandoned village in the desert. My clients love discovering somewhere new and sharing that discovery with the people they love..”

C&B: “Which type of venues, locations, and destinations do you typically choose for the special occasions you plan?”

NR: “I love destinations that tell a story about my clients. The right destination should fit their personality and vision, while also making sense for where their guests are traveling from. My core destinations are Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, the Alps, Marrakech and Dubai – although producing in other parts of the world…”

I love authentic, spontaneous photographs rather than overly posed ones. Two moments particularly speak to me: the intimacy of exchanging vows, and that beautiful moment immediately after the “I do,” when the emotion turns into celebration. Then comes the energy of dinner and the dance floor, where some of the most memorable images happen naturally…”

C&B: “Music sets the tone from the outset – which style do your couples generally prefer?”

NR: “Most of my destination wedding clients are Millennials, so their tastes are very eclectic. Pop is definitely popular, but I love when the music evolves throughout the celebration: elegant and atmospheric during cocktails and dinner, then increasingly energetic as the evening moves to the dance floor…”

C&B: “Cocktail hour and the dinner are both integral aspects of any celebration; which inspirational items would be on your menu for the perfect summer wedding?”

NR: “For cocktails, I usually let my mixology partners create something personal for each couple. But if I were to create one for Maison NR, it would be The Islander: a refined combination of gin, passion fruit, lychee, fresh lime, a touch of vanilla and aromatic combava, finished with a delicate splash of Champagne. Exotic, fresh and elegant, with a little nod to my island roots! I love a summer menu that feels fresh, elegant and full of character, with a strong Mediterranean influence. I would start with Gillardeau oysters, finger lime and citrus mignonette, followed by a selection of Mediterranean crudo and seasonal vegetables. Then perhaps a delicate lobster dish with citrus and herbs, alongside a touch of Oscietra caviar with warm potato blinis and cultured cream. For the main course, I would favour the day’s freshest catch, simply prepared with young vegetables, herbs and a beautiful olive oil, letting exceptional ingredients speak for themselves. To finish: Menton lemon, seasonal berries, verbena and a selection of delicate petits fours. And a pièce montée made of delicate profiteroles, of course. For me, true luxury is not about adding more, it is about exceptional produce, seasonality and letting every ingredient shine…”

I love floral design that feels refined rather than excessive: sophisticated, organic and beautifully integrated into its surroundings. I prefer a restrained palette, beautiful seasonal flowers and strategic placement rather than flowers everywhere. The goal is for the florals to enhance the architecture and atmosphere, creating a sense of quiet luxury…”

C&B: “Finally Nadia, given all the amazing locations and venues you know so well, what would you consider to be a dream project?”

NR: “A destination cruise wedding. Imagine welcoming around 100 guests aboard the Orient Express sailing yacht for five days, with every stop becoming a different chapter of the wedding: a welcome dinner aboard the yacht, a ceremony at a private estate, an after-party on a secluded island, and celebrations unfolding along the journey. The destination itself would become part of the wedding, not simply the backdrop. It would be intimate, immersive, extraordinary and, frankly, a little bit crazy. That would be a dream project for me…”
