We believe wedding photography is not just about capturing how a day looks, but how it feels; each image should carry emotion, light, and truth – something timeless that will still speak to the heart decades from now…”

D2 has photographed couples of various nationalities, traditions, and faiths – from Indian and Jewish weddings to same-sex celebrations and intimate elopements. Their multicultural experience enables them to approach each story with deep respect and sensitivity. C&B: “Donatella, Damiano – congratulations on all your recent success. What first inspired you to pursue a career in wedding photography?”
D2: “Our journey began as a couple in life and in work, and that deep personal connection naturally shaped the way we document love stories. What inspired us most is the opportunity to learn about different cultures and connect with people from all over the world. Every wedding allows us to witness human emotion in its purest form – love, joy, and connection…”

The key to a successful image is connection – when a couple feels understood and at ease, the images naturally reflect who they are. We always take time to get to know their story – what they love, what is meaningful to them – so that every image feels personal and unique…”

C&B: “How would you describe your photographic style, and how has it evolved over the years?”
D2: “Our style is emotional, elegant, and timeless. We focus on authentic emotions and genuine human connections – what truly remains over the years. With time, our photography has become more refined and complete, blending a documentary approach with a sophisticated, editorial aesthetic that feels both spontaneous and polished…”
C&B: “Is there any special technique that you use to build rapport with couples to make them comfortable in front of the camera?”
D2: “We create a relaxed atmosphere and communicate regularly before the wedding day. We share mood boards, ideas, and always encourage them to simply be themselves. On the wedding day, we guide gently without intruding, allowing moments to unfold naturally. Trust is everything – once that is established, the magic happens effortlessly…”

Our advice to couples is: ‘Just be yourselves, enjoy your day, and live every moment fully. Don’t worry about the camera – that’s our job!’ The most beautiful photographs come when couples forget they’re being photographed and simply live their emotions…”

C&B: “Could you share a memorable experience you’ve had while photographing a wedding?”
D2: “One of the most unforgettable experiences was in India. After photographing a four-day wedding celebration, we traveled with the couple for ten days through Gujarat and Rajasthan to capture their honeymoon adventure. It was a deeply immersive and authentic experience – vibrant colours, music, people, emotions. It reminded us why we fell in love with photography in the first place…”
C&B: “How do you ensure that each couple’s unique story is reflected in their wedding images?”
D2: “Every couple brings a different kind of energy – their personalities, cultures, and love stories make each wedding one of a kind. We pay attention to small gestures, looks, and moments that reveal who they truly are. Emotions are never the same twice, and that’s what makes our work so inspiring…”

Details tell the story of the couple’s world – the scent of the flowers, the texture of the gown, the handwritten vows. We see them not as static elements but as emotional fragments that contribute to the atmosphere and narrative of the day…”

C&B: “When you’re planning your shots, how do you go about selecting the best locations for shooting the wedding portraits?”
D2: “We always listen to our couples first, understanding what places are meaningful to them. Then, we combine that emotional connection with our artistic vision, often choosing light and composition over the obvious backdrop. Italy offers endless beauty – from the Tuscan countryside to Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, and the great artistic cities of Florence, Venice, and Rome. However, for us, the true essence of a wedding lies in the people. The venue is the frame; the couple and their emotions are the masterpiece…”
