Many people say they fell in love with Ibiza at first sight, and so did I! I first visited Ibiza 20 years ago for work, drawn by its world-class electronic music. Over time, I’ve discovered its beautiful daytime side too: wild nature all around, hidden beaches, secret places, and a daylight that feels truly special…”

Masha Troitskaya is an Ibiza-based wedding videographer who specialises in capturing the beauty of the island. Here we discuss how Masha’s background in electronic music enhances her work and what she loves most about island weddings…
C&B: “Masha – welcome to our CITY & BEACH ISLAND WEDDING SERIES! Can you say what you love most about Ibiza, describe your filmmaking style, and how do you think it enhances the overall experience for the couples you work with?”
MT: “Ibiza in summer is always full of vibrant events and exciting happenings, which is part of what makes the island so special. With my background, I rely on music a great deal. Harmony, rhythm, structure, and the emotional flow of music – when they meet moving images – create something truly powerful. Still, the deepest inspiration comes from the wedding day itself. Every couple is unique, and each celebration feels different, leaving a lasting impression that I try to preserve and highlight in the video…”

C&B: “The rugged landscape of Ibiza is quite dramatic and your drone footage captures it perfectly; what unique perspectives does this offer your filmography?”
MT: “Aerial footage is an important and beautiful part of wedding videos. The views from above add a cinematic scale and power to wedding films. Drone footage works great as establishing shots – to show the venue and its surroundings, and to place the moments filmed ‘on earth’ into context. But it truly shines during emotional parts of the video. When combined with the right music, it adds a sense of eternity – a view from beyond…”

I work with professional, experienced, certified, and insured drone pilots who have a great eye for aerial shots. We operate in parallel on the wedding day, capturing the most spectacular moments from both the ground and the sky. Drone filming involves many small but important details to consider, such as restricted areas, special permissions from airports and heliports, and hotel privacy policies. To ensure everything runs smoothly and legally, the drone pilots in Ibiza collaborate with an experienced aerial management company that handles all the necessary regulations and permissions…”

My films are a reminder that we’re all here on this beautiful planet, floating in space – loving deeply, building lifelong friendships, cherishing family, welcoming new life, and doing our best to live with joy, love, and meaning. Sometimes, while editing, I get goosebumps in these moments – and it’s something I want to keep exploring…”

C&B: “All your videography is fantastic, Masha, but which is the most memorable wedding you have filmed in Ibiza, and what made it stand out in terms of your creative approach?”
MT: “My most memorable wedding was held at a rustic finca. The couple asked me to skip traditional wedding shots like the rings and shoes, and instead, focus on the vibes and the fun moments. They even requested I change my usual colour scheme to something completely different. I took it as both a challenge and a mental exercise. In my search for less obvious shots, I noticed the chickens wandering around the farm. I filmed them interacting with the wedding decor and guests, and I absolutely loved the final result. It felt as if this couple unlocked a new side of my creativity that I didn’t know existed and reminded me how important and exciting it is to keep exploring new things…”
