C&B: “Melinda, congratulations on LUXUS EVENTS being named as one of the CITY & BEACH LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE ‘TOP 10 INTERNATIONAL WEDDING PLANNERS 2024’! You’ve had an extremely successful decade of producing gorgeous events on behalf of your clients – your breathtaking images speak for themselves; what first prompted you to become a wedding designer?”

MG: “My journey into wedding design started with a deep passion for art and fashion, and a love for architectural design. As a child, I spent hours drawing and creating, always planning and designing. My entrepreneurial spirit comes from my dad, and my mum’s passion for interior design shaped my aesthetic sense. This background, along with my business management experience and love for beauty and creativity, naturally led me to my true calling; wedding planning and design. While weddings are a big part of what I do, my team and I also organise a variety of other luxury events, from milestone celebrations to corporate launches for discerning clients…”



C&B: “What was your first entree into the event design business and how did your innate skills help you?”

MG: “Even before launching Luxus Events, I’d gained valuable experience in event planning. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills through various global projects, workshops, and continuous learning, allowing me to deliver excellent services to my clients. My background in fashion and interior design has always kept me connected to the world of aesthetics, and my management experience has helped me lead teams and execute complex projects. It’s been a fantastic ride, and I’m always learning something new…”



C&B: “What profile of client do you generally attract and why do they choose your service from the many on offer?”

MG: “Our clients are typically high-net-worth individuals and esteemed figures who value sophistication, top-quality service, and unique experiences; they come from diverse backgrounds and cultures but share a common desire for once-in-a-lifetime experiences and visually stunning celebrations that reflect their unique personalities and visions. Our clients appreciate the meticulous attention to detail and flawless execution we provide, ensuring they can relax and enjoy their special celebration. Building strong relationships with our clients is something I deeply enjoy, as it allows us to create truly bespoke events…”



C&B: “What’s the best advice you can offer your clients on how to prepare mentally and emotionally for their big day?”

MG: “My advice would be to remember that enjoying yourself and having fun on your special day is most important. Don’t let the list of tasks overwhelm you; embrace every moment of the planning process and enjoy the journey as much as the destination…”

C&B: “You’re based in central London – do you tend to produce events locally or do you offer your service internationally?”

MG: “We work globally and our projects have taken us to some of the most breathtaking locations around the world. From opulent European castles to stunning private estates and custom-built venues, we’ve experience organising events in diverse and unique settings. We’re always excited about exploring new destinations and creating memorable experiences for our clients worldwide…”



C&B: “From all the various venues and locations available around the world, which of those are your personal favourites, and why?”

MG: “Choosing a favourite venue is tough as each location has its unique charm and beauty. However, the Amalfi Coast holds a special place in my heart; its stunning architecture, lush greenery, and bright blue sea provide a magical backdrop for any event. That said, I’m always open to discovering new venues that inspire and captivate…”

C&B: “Do you have to find new suppliers everywhere you produce an event or do you fly in your own vendors from London?”

MG: “We’ve built a network of exceptional suppliers globally, including floral designers, bridal stylists, and lighting and production teams, to name a few. Each vendor is handpicked to ensure they align perfectly with our clients’ wedding styles. Collaboration is key, so I prioritise sourcing the best talents in the industry to ensure everything is perfect. Partnering with our vetted vendors guarantees that every event detail is flawlessly executed, delivering an exceptional experience every time…”



C&B: “You’ve already organised an incredible number of exceptional events – what would you consider to be a dream project for your company?”

MG: “Every project I take on is special and brings its own unique challenges and joys. However, my dream project would be something extraordinary; an event where the party never ends, or lasts for over a week, full of exclusive experiences and adventures across different parts of the world. It would be so much fun to work on a project where the guests jet around on a private jet while partying in the air, transition to a luxurious yacht party, and then host a dinner under the stars in a desert oasis. It would be a week of unparalleled experiences, each day bringing new and thrilling adventures, creating an unforgettable experience that’s out of this world…”
