Kent Bespoke Shutters are one of the leading window shutter specialists in England, designing, supplying and installing beautiful bespoke shutters for both domestic and commercial projects. Typical day-to-day enquiries originate mainly from direct clients looking to add shutters to their own homes, however the company has completed work on behalf of small independent hotels, as well as offices and retailers. The company has long established relationships with interior designers such as Ruston House Interiors, Furnished by Anna and Lily Matthews Interiors. Here, Rob Mann, MD of Kent Bespoke Shutters, talks about his work:
We love to work with our regular interior design companies on projects that require window shutters; we’re always looking to attract new partnerships with fellow individuals and companies who share our passion for interiors“

NS: “As a designer, I love shutters; I think they give a room a lovely airy ambience and they look incredibly stylish – Ralph Lauren uses them to brilliant effect and I’m often inspired by his look for my own interiors projects; have you worked on many notable jobs where the finished article is going to be seen far and wide?”
RM: “Yes, we have, and although we treat all of our clients with the same care and high customer service as one another, it’s always great to be asked to complete projects for prestigious clients. One such project that we’re very proud of being asked to complete is the major renovation project for the actor/actress couple Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne, featured on their Instagram page @homewiththeosbornes. We, as a small team, felt a large amount of pressure to deliver amazing results – with the eyes of their very large following waiting eagerly for the final outcome! Happily, the finished images of their new shutters were incredible and gained enormous attention and appreciation from many people…“
The product quality and exceptional service the company offers is second to none – supplying only premium hardwood materials and fully waterproof UPVC shutters for areas where moisture may be present on a frequent basis, such as bathrooms and utility areas“

NS: “Which is the most challenging job you’ve done so far?”
RM: “Most obstacles we come up against are fairly minor, however ‘out of square‘ windows can be a real challenge at times; internally opening windows, or tilt and turn windows, are also challenging, therefore the design stage of such projects particularly critical. Shaped and Apex windows are always very challenging too – although the installation part for these windows is a little tricky, the real challenge is in the measure and design stage for such windows; when completed right, the results are spectacular…”
Although the bulk of our projects are completed here in Kent, East Sussex and Surrey – and these three areas certainly keep us busy – we do travel further afield for the right client and project, including into central London and northern France, where we completed a beautiful project of a holiday home for a return client”

Shutters are not just a beautiful visual addition, their practicality make them perfect for hospitality venues; we recently completed a project for a small independent hotel and the outcome was amazing!”
