Having been born in Austria, I thought I had seen everything the country has to offer. However, once I started exploring different event venues – from romantic castles to mountain chalets and locations next to crystal-clear lakes – I was surprised by the versatile environment of my home country. Showcasing this pure Austrian beauty to my clients and their international wedding guests remains the favourite aspect of what I do!”

C&B: “Verena, Austria provides a beautiful backdrop for wedding planning and event design. What initially drew you to launch your service?”
VK: “I have a background in tourism and events, and I’ve always enjoyed organising private parties and soirées for our clients. In 2011, I decided to specialise in the field of weddings by first collaborating with an agency in Tenerife, Spain, and then founding my own company catering to international clients who were specifically looking to get married in Austria and other selected wedding destinations.”
Our clients and their guests often travel from overseas for their wedding day, and while we always adapt to different cultural and religious traditions, we aim to provide an authentic experience that includes regional food and drinks, seasonal flowers, and local wedding traditions wherever appropriate. Our clients appreciate our fresh approach to valuing their culture while adding a modern twist to their wedding day…”

C&B: “Keeping in mind the high expectations of your clients, are you able to describe a wedding or event that really pushed your creative boundaries?”
VK: “For a Catholic-Indian celebration our clients fell in love with a modernised castle. Deciding to celebrate two out of four event days at the same venue challenged our creativity to give each day a totally different look and ambience. As soon as the guests had left after the first evening, our team and florists transformed the entire space from an elegant black and white theme monochromatic scheme to a colourful Indian decor…”
C&B: “That transformation must have astounded the guests! Are there any key elements in the production that you focus on to ensure a seamless event experience for your clients?”
VK: “I strongly believe in the power of music. It helps us lead guests through the entire event without them even noticing. For example, when we want them to leave one of the event spaces and move to the next happening, we change the music style and volume, making them understand that the party will continue at another spot. We also implement the same strategy using our lighting concepts whenever necessary…”
C&B: “Talking of music and lighting, does technology play a role in your event planning and design process?”
VK: “I wish I were more of a tech person; there’s so much out there to make a planner’s life easier, I’m sure. At the moment, we use planning tools to maintain an overview and to allow our clients to consistently follow our planning process…”
Our team always stays within easy reach of clients and guests – keeping an eye on what’s happening is crucial. It’s the tiny details that make all the difference, like when we see a guest looking for a waiter or whatever it may be, we immediately approach them to ensure all wishes will be met…”

C&B: “Yes, transitioning a wedding from day to night is so important, and the attention to service is crucial. How do you balance the couple’s own vision with your professional expertise in event design?”
VK: “Gaining a client’s trust is the first big step when planning an event. We’re happy to invest our time from the very beginning to understand our clients’ individual lifestyles, their wishes, and needs. We design each event from scratch, which allows us to envision something completely unique for every client. Tastes may vary, and we’re here to assist with our professional approach to balancing expectations, budgets, and design possibilities.”
C&B: “How do you handle unexpected challenges that arise during the planning process or on the wedding day?”
VK: “Working with people is my personal favourite part of this job, and at the same time, it’s the most challenging aspect. No matter how much we plan in detail, things can still go wrong, and as the planners, we have to fix them. During the planning period, I filter the information for my vendors to highlight what I want them to focus on. On the wedding day itself, I aim to solve issues as soon as they appear, pushing our team and collaborators to perform at their peak while keeping motivation and positive vibes high.”
C&B: “Can you share any insider tips for couples looking to plan a destination wedding and how you help with the specifics?”
VK: “Yes! I’d suggest the couples make themselves familiar with the culture at the destination they’ve chosen. Hospitality is a key element that we meet at the highest level; therefore, on their behalf, we check accessibility to airports, any culinary highlights, and the availability of local partners.”
Over the years, we’ve built a strong network of international partners, we trust their expertise and also their referrals of further vendors. We’re very selective when it comes to possible destinations for our events…”

C&B: “Wedding trends and themes are always evolving; which designs and concepts are you currently seeing that excite you the most?”
VK: “Oh, I do love to work with fabrics of all kinds! While we’ll be seeing them draped from ceilings in 2025, I can’t wait to match them with tablecloths, napkins, and fabrics for cushions, which have often been custom sewn for our events in the past…”
C&B: “We love the draped fabric concept – it looks fantastic if there’s a light breeze or as a backdrop to candlelight. Finally, what do you find most rewarding about your career in wedding design?”
VK: “I just love a good party and seeing people enjoying themselves; I believe having a fantastic time with your loved ones and creating lasting memories together is what life is all about!”
