SAVILE ROSE: LET THE PARTIES COMMENCE!

Savile Rose
specialises in orchestrating beautifully crafted events, bringing ideas to life with flawless execution. Co-owned by two directors, Georgina Scott and Charlotte Monahan, between the two they have over 35 years experience producing spectacular high-end events and weddings with a difference – a youthful and British-led twist that requires flexibility, boundless energy and killer contacts.  Savile Rose provides strong support to their clients, giving an array of inspiring curated options from their bespoke sources, making the whole process stress free and enjoyable. Here we speak with founding partner Georgina about the background to the company and the profile of events for which Savile Rose is most recognised:

ON INTERNATIONAL EVENT DESIGN:

“Having originated in LA, Savile Rose is now primarily based in London – albeit it with a 24/7 service, working worldwide on behalf of  our extensive network of VIP clients and exclusive brands.  We found London gave the company an ideal location, with quick access to Europe and its stunning event destinations… however, saying that, we are known to regularly pop up at destinations as far flung as Singapore. We’ve been incredibly lucky to work with some brilliant and innovative brands over the years including Dyson, Nespresso and Bafta plus many more. Working alongside the in-house teams of these brands on their launches and product showcases is incredibly rewarding. Before starting on any project we ensure we fully immerse ourselves in the brand, learning about their core ethos and identity, so we can assist with elevating and supporting each event accordingly…”

ON THE CALIFORNIA CONNECTION:

“I moved to Los Angeles looking for a new challenge and a clean living lifestyle – in doing so, I dreamt up the plan of a flexible events company inspired by LA’s fresh, youthful and forward-thinking approach to events and having fun.  It was time to break out of the mould of traditional parties and start something new; that energy runs throughout everything that we do…”

ON PRODUCING BESPOKE EVENTS:

“We’re very proud to head up a strong all-female team of incredible talent, including our two directors, dedicated team of planners, inspiring creatives and production wizards!  As a smaller agency we offer a completely bespoke service, so the whole team is briefed on each and every project, making sure every occasion receives the full benefit of our extensive experience and innovative design.  All the concept work and design is done in-house, after which we handpick an exclusive team of artisan suppliers to create and produce each element, tailored to our clients wishes.  No event is ever the same!”

ON THEMES & SPECIAL REQUESTS:

“We produce an incredible variety of designs and themes, from that well known ‘school of wizardry’ (Harry Potter) through to an experiential rainforest journey transporting guests into another world as they sip their Champagne!  We’d say the first and most important point is that we listen very carefully to our clients, deciphering how they want to feel when they walk into the space and the energy and story they want to achieve for the event. It’s then our job to interpret their style and dreams and bring it all into reality, delivering beyond expectations and creating something truly memorable.  We take inspiration from the world around us – whether that’s up and coming trends, beautiful colour pairings and seasonal florals, or just pure wild and wacky fun!”

“We love producing a complete transformation and creating bespoke props take a very important role in that. One of the many memorable moments was when we turned our clients house in London into a full true to size Swiss chalet (below) with real snow falling, fir trees, timelapse mountain views and a trusty pair of St. Bernard dogs with brandy barrels waiting at the door!  Or on another occasion, we built a ‘Noah’s Ark’ at Somerset House in London, where – as ‘storm clouds’ gathered – both the animals and guests arrived two-by-two for a fabulous evening of fun.  You could say no challenge is too big and we relish in making the impossible possible…”

“We do get the odd request or two, when we just need to check in with ourselves to make sure we heard the client correctly!  For example, one beautiful and incredibly fashionable bride was considering having her first dance with a real, live bear… we did have a few health and safety concerns, you could say!  But we instead adapted the vision into an incredible photo shoot for her on that same theme, which produced some really stunning photos – so there is always a way to deliver…”

ON UNFORESEEN CHALLENGES:

“We’re constantly presented with challenges whilst working at home and abroad – ‘Mother Nature’ does have a talent for throwing curveballs at even the best planned events!  However, that’s another advantage of having a strong team who are able to think on their feet; for example, an unexpected flash-flood the morning of a wedding in the desert required quick action from us and some serious connections to obtain the only clear roof marquee in the area, just in time for dinner!  On another occasion, an ash cloud descended over the planned venue so back up private jets had to be scrambled to a different location, all unbeknown to the guests who were meanwhile enjoying a very good lunch…”

ON CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS:

“We pride ourselves on receiving new work through recommendation and word of mouth; we’re incredibly lucky to have numerous long standing relationships with many of our clients, their families and trusted brands that we’ve worked for over the years.  We work on a discrete basis, staying under the radar and working hard to achieve the best results; you could say we leave the ‘singing and dancing’ element to the guests!

ON CELEBRITY EVENTS:

“When it comes to corporate events and launches, we have a strong ‘little black book’ of fabulous VIPs and influencers, so if it’s required we do also help connect our brands with the right people. However, for private events it’s very much the clients ‘nearest and dearest’ who attend and our responsibility is just to ensure they have a fantastic time at the event…”

ON LUXURY BRAND ASSOCIATES:

“We’re lucky to have worked with numerous incredible suppliers, they really are exceptional at their craft!  For flowers, the timeless elegance of Rob van Helden is always exceptional, along with his infectious humour and hugs!”
