BOOK: DIANA DA ROS

Stay open to love, to beauty, and to the small moments of magic that make life sparkle, because love, in whatever form it takes, is what truly nourishes our lives…”

ON MENTORS: “One of the most important mentors in my life has been David Tutera. When I first discovered his work through television, I was very young and just starting my journey. Watching him transform events into emotional experiences inspired me to dream bigger. Over the years I had the opportunity to meet him, learn from him, and eventually collaborate with him. What impressed me most was not only his talent, but also his humility and generosity. His guidance helped me understand that events are not just celebrations, they are experiences that create emotion and connection. Today his respect and friendship are among the greatest honours of my career…”

One of my most important collaborations is with Tomas De Bruyne (above, right), one of the world’s leading floral designers. Together we have created projects in locations such as Sicily, Dubai, and Lapland. I also collaborate with bridal and high-jewellery brands, and recently worked with the region of Puglia to promote the destination to American planners during an event at The New York Times building in New York. These collaborations are meaningful because they are built on shared creativity, vision, and human connection…”

ON INSPIRATION: One of the most inspirational events I’ve ever attended was the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Giorgio Armani Privé 2005–2025’ at the Armani/Silos in Milan (above). The exhibition was immersive and emotional, celebrating twenty years of haute couture creations. Walking through the rooms felt like entering a world of elegance, creativity, and craftsmanship. What made the moment unforgettable was meeting Giorgio Armani in person. Seeing him among the guests, elegant, kind, and humble, was deeply moving. It felt like a lesson in grace and humanity. Knowing it became the last official event before his passing makes that moment even more meaningful. It was truly an honour to be there…”

ON EDUCATION: “Two events have been particularly meaningful: the David Tutera Experience and RSVP Tuscany 2025. The David Tutera Experience helped me reconnect with my passion after a difficult health period, and in 2023 I had the honour of speaking during the gala dinner in Grand Cayman. RSVP Tuscany has become one of the most important gatherings in the wedding industry, bringing together creatives from around the world and fostering meaningful collaborations…”

UNFORGETTABLE OCCASIONS: “One of the most memorable events I have ever staged was a wedding in Finnish Lapland (above) at the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. The project took five years to develop and combined two passions of the couple: space exploration and Viking mythology. The bride, an aerospace engineer fascinated by the universe, wore a custom gown with micro-LED lights woven into the fabric, glowing softly in the Arctic night. The ceremony itself was inspired by Viking rituals and took place under the northern sky. One unforgettable moment was the bride arriving in the forest on a sleigh pulled by a white reindeer. The celebration concluded with a rotating cake installation representing the planets of the solar system. What made the wedding extraordinary was not only the location, but the authenticity of the story behind it. It felt like bringing a myth to life…”

Two of my favourite hotels are The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and The Rosewood Bermuda. Both offer extraordinary natural settings and exceptional service. What I appreciate most is their ‘delicate luxury’: refined, elegant, and never excessive. They create experiences that feel intimate and unforgettable…”

ON DREAM DESTINATIONS: “Three dream wedding locations are at the top of my list: the desert, the Grand Canyon, and Hawaii. Each offers extraordinary natural beauty and a powerful emotional atmosphere. I believe celebrations surrounded by such landscapes can transform a wedding into something truly unforgettable…”

ON CHALLENGES: “One of the most challenging moments of my career happened during an extremely intense period of work. I was traveling constantly, organising events, sleeping very little, and pushing myself far beyond my limits. What I initially believed was simple exhaustion turned into something much more serious when I was diagnosed with cerebral venous thrombosis, a rare and potentially fatal condition. Suddenly I found myself in a hospital bed, in December 2018, connected to machines, facing uncertainty about my recovery and my future. For someone used to being active and constantly creating, being forced to stop was incredibly difficult. However, that experience also taught me something profound. Even during my recovery I tried to keep a positive mindset and stay connected with the people I loved. Surviving that moment changed my perspective completely. It reminded me that success matters, but health, balance, and gratitude for life are far more important. In many ways, that experience didn’t stop my career, it gave it a deeper meaning…”

One of my most memorable collaborations has been with Chef Enrico Bartolini, the only chef in Michelin Guide history to earn twelve Michelin stars across his restaurants (above). One of our most spectacular events was a charity gala dinner organised directly on the starting grid of the Monza Formula 1 racetrack. It combined fine dining with the excitement of motorsport, creating an unforgettable experience. What makes Bartolini extraordinary is his precision and attention to detail. For him, cuisine is not just food, it is emotion, storytelling, and performance…”

ON DREAM DINNERS: “My ideal dinner table would include a mix of family, mentors, and inspiring figures. First, my closest family: my son, my husband, and my parents, the people who supported me through every step of my journey. Then I would invite eight extraordinary individuals who shaped my life and career: David Tutera, Anna Wintour, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Stefania Arrigoni, Tomas De Bruyne, Stefania Tranchino, and Carmelo Spina. It would be a dinner filled with love, creativity, inspiration, and gratitude, a celebration of the people who helped shape my path…”

ON LESSONS LEARNED: “If I could go back in time, I’d start protecting my personal time much earlier. For many years I worked with an unstoppable rhythm, always connected and always available. I believed giving 100% of my energy all the time was the only way to succeed. My health experience taught me that we are not machines. We need rest, recovery, and moments that belong only to us. Today I am much more conscious about maintaining balance. Protecting my time has actually made me more creative, focused, and present when I work. My couples know I am always there for them, but setting healthy boundaries allows me to give them the best version of myself…”
