ANDREA WINCKWORTH

It’s important when choosing a planner, whether for a wedding or a milestone celebration, to find someone who is not only organised and creative, but someone with whom you genuinely connect and enjoy working over the months of planning. I make it a priority to bring a friendly and reassuring presence to everything I do and I aim to be known not just for creating exceptional events, but as someone my clients trust and enjoy working with…”

Andrea Winckworth is the founder and director of Andrea Winckworth Events. Originally from Ireland, she currently divides her time between Dublin, London, and Portugal, orchestrating luxury weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events across Ireland and Europe. With extensive international experience, Andrea has successfully managed events throughout Ireland, the UK, and Europe, and she is willing to travel worldwide for projects that require her expertise. Launched in February 2023, Andrea Winckworth Events was established from a desire to create events that reflect her personal vision. After eight previous years in the events industry, gaining valuable experience in both New York and Dublin, she recognised it was the opportune moment to embark on her own venture, allowing her to challenge herself creatively and take full ownership of the events she produces…

C&B: “Andrea, you have built a beautiful portfolio – who are your typical clients and how do they first hear about you?”

AW: “My business has grown largely through word of mouth, which I’ve found to be the most powerful driver of success. I approach every event with the mindset that it could lead to the next opportunity, often taking the time to introduce myself and build connections on the day. Additionally, Instagram has played an important role in my efforts, as I use the platform to share my work and attract new clients. My clients are typically busy professionals who enjoy hosting but may not have the time or knowledge to get started. A significant portion of my work also comes from international clients, particularly for weddings, who appreciate having someone on the ground to ensure everything comes together seamlessly. Additionally, many of my clients are quite private, with some requesting non-disclosure agreements. I am always mindful of this and fully respect their need for discretion…”

Many of my clients stay in touch long after the event itself, often returning to work with me again for future occasions. These are not just one-off events, but part of a lifetime of celebrations, which is something that means a great deal to me and what sets my company apart in the industry…”

C&B: “What unique elements or techniques do you incorporate into your weddings?”

AW: “My approach is centred around creating a calm and considered environment for my clients on the day of their event, allowing them to be fully present and enjoy the experience without feeling the pressure of what is happening behind the scenes. With the right team in place, every detail is carefully managed to ensure that nothing is overlooked. Detailed schedules are prepared not just for suppliers, but also tailored versions for the couple, keeping things clear and simple so they know exactly where they need to be and when…”

C&B: “You can you share five examples of venues that your company suggests to clients?”

AW: “Venue recommendations depend on the client’s style, guest numbers and budget. Many international clients coming to Ireland are drawn to castle venues, and Ireland offers an incredible range to choose from. Budget is always defined early on to avoid suggesting options that may not be the right fit. A few of my favourite venues in Ireland include Cashel Palace, Luttrellstown Castle and Sheen Falls Lodge. For destination celebrations, The St. Regis in Rome is incredibly special. Each offers something different, and all provide a beautiful setting for a special celebration…”

Above all, I aim to bring a friendly and reassuring presence, guiding everything quietly and confidently so it runs exactly as it should…”

C&B: “Clearly, you’ve achieved great success – how far in advance do you suggest clients book your service?”

AW: “There’s no strict timeline when it comes to booking. I organised a multi-day wedding for 150 guests in Rome with just six weeks’ notice, as well as events planned with over 18 months advance notice. Naturally, the more time the better, particularly for weddings, to secure the right venue and suppliers. That said, with the right team in place, a lot can be achieved in a shorter timeframe and I’ll always do my utmost to create a special occasion, regardless of timing…”

C&B: “After any event or wedding project, it’s always lovely to receive a note of appreciation. Can you remember anything your clients have said or done to say thank you?”

AW: “I’ve received consistently positive feedback from my clients, particularly around the reassurance of having someone they can trust to manage every detail and make the whole process feel seamless from start to finish. For example, “Andrea was an absolute dream to work with. From the very beginning she made everything feel so easy and stress-free, and on the day itself we were able to fully relax knowing everything was completely under control.” Clients often mention my calm, organised approach and the confidence they feel having me there on the day, along with my ability to understand their vision and bring it to life in a way that feels personal to them!”
