Here we discuss how the various assets of the venue contribute to the success of a wedding or other special occasion…
C&B: “Clevedon Hall lends itself to the most beautiful weddings in the most traditional of English settings. Are the ceremonies always on a classic theme, or can a couple give it their own personal twist?”
LE: “Being a historic manor house in the English countryside, we typically host romantic, timeless and elegant themed weddings. However, the versatility of our spaces allows us to welcome all styles, and we’ve celebrated everything from black-tie affairs to Harry Potter-inspired celebrations and even Halloween weddings…”

Clevedon Hall, has a fascinating history – it was originally named ‘Frankfurt Hall’, built in 1853 by German born Conrad Finzel who established the UK’s largest sugar refinery business, which was operated from the Hall. Over the years, various owners made significant modifications and extensions to the Hall, including Charles Hill who renamed the mansion Clevedon Hall…”

C&B: “The mansion looks very spacious; what is the maximum capacity, and what types of spaces are available for ceremonies and receptions?”
LE: “Our maximum seated capacity is anywhere between 130 to 150 guests, depending on the preferred layout. We have many rooms and spaces available for both ceremony and reception, as well as beautifully manicured gardens and space for marquees. Each space within the mansion offers something different, from the light and airy orangery to the dark and moody Library and Great Hall, boasting original features and architecture…”

We regularly host inspiration days and tasting sessions for our couples throughout the year, allowing them to experience Clevedon Hall’s hospitality before their big day. While we pride ourselves on offering exceptional value year-round, we also provide exclusive last-minute packages for those dreaming of a beautiful wedding without the wait…”

C&B: “Can you tell us more about the beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces? How do these enhance the wedding experience?”
LE: “Clevedon Hall had one of the very first Japanese Gardens in the country and in 1925 it had a Japanese tea house on the lake. Today, the property features acres of beautifully manicured gardens complete with a wildflower meadow, Hebe Fountain and a charming gazebo, offering the perfect backdrop for photos and outdoor ceremonies…”

C&B: “The gardens are so very beautiful to wander around and there are many perfect places for photos to be taken. Do you have a list of preferred vendors for photography, catering, floristry, entertainment, and so on?”
LE: “We have a black book of suppliers that we have worked with and love, but instead of overwhelming our couples with the full list, we prefer to curate supplier lists based on the couples brief so that we are only recommending suppliers that we think will align with their vision. It helps massively when a couple choose our recommended vendors as these professionals know the venue well…”
C&B: “Do you also create signature drinks for weddings and events? That’s such a big thing…”
LE: “Yes, we have a fully stocked bar and a comprehensive wine and cocktail list. We can source pretty much anything, and make it our mission to ensure we have all of our couples favourite drinks available!”
C&B: “What would you say are some of the most memorable weddings that have taken place at Clevedon Hall?”
LE: “Every wedding is memorable in its own way, but our favourites are the ones that blend cultures, tradition and family heritage. It’s truly an honour to welcome couples and their families from around the world, experiencing weddings that showcase rich cultural diversity, from the food and entertainment to the overall aesthetic…”

C&B: “Final question, Lauren: Regarding budget and style, what type of offer can couples expect from the team at Clevedon Hall in terms of the venue hosting a unique celebration that reflects their own high expectations?
LE: “Our exclusive use venue hire fees include a dedicated wedding specialist who will guide our couples through the planning process, and an expert team specialising in on-the-day coordination and event management. We prefer to create bespoke proposals to offer our couples taking their specific requirements into account when doing so. We have a mantra that ‘anything is possible’, so we allow the couple to share their vision and brief with us before curating a package and/or proposal. This includes single day and multi-day package options…”
C&B: “Thank you, Lauren, for the tour of your quintessentially English venue, Clevedon Hall!”
