C&B: “Alice, congratulations on your beautiful weddings – what first inspired you to pursue a career in planning?”
AG: “When I started Italian Style Weddings, I was working in event planning in London. I did all kinds of events, but private ones — weddings especially — were by far the most satisfying from a creative point of view. And there’s nothing quite like being part of the happiest chapter of a couple’s new life together…”
The weddings I design are built around my couples’ visions. What I’ve learned over the years is how to translate that vision into the venue they’ve chosen, and how to find personal elements beyond the Pinterest board, which may come from their personalities, their love stories, which make their wedding unique…”

C&B: “Who or what has been your biggest influences?”
AG: “The places I have lived in have been my biggest influences; London is where I built my work ethic. It’s where I learned to sit with couples from every kind of background and listen to their individual stories and visions. Italy has shaped my eye for beauty, my appreciation for the small details…”
C&B: “Why do you work between London and Italy?”
AG: “London still feels like home, and it’s where I go back for inspiration. Keeping a base there made sense because many of our couples are London-based and meeting them in person makes the whole relationship more personal…”
Many elements go into a successful wedding, but I believe they all derive from the most important one: the relationship between the planner and the couple. Clear communication, trust, and transparency mean the couple always knows where things stand. When those are in place, everything else follows naturally. That includes a strong team of vendors, guest experience and the couple being present on the day…”

C&B: “Could you share the most memorable experience you’ve had while planning a wedding?”
AG: “I worked with a bride who dreamed of a colourful wedding but couldn’t quite pinpoint what and why she liked certain set ups she had pinned and disliked others despite all being of a similar style or palette. Social media often inspires as much as it confuses. She started feeling very overwhelmed and unsure about going colourful, especially with so many white and green set ups appearing on her feeds, that she decided to scrap the idea and opt for a safer, neutral design. So I asked her to step away from social media and simply trust me. Through the planning I had got to know her well enough to know exactly how to bring it all together to reflect her style and personality. The result was one of the most beautiful designs we’ve ever created…”
We don’t have preferred venues in general but rather preferred venues for each requirement. Regardless, we love venues who are collaborative and communicative with us during the planning…”

C&B: “Final question, Alice: What do you believe sets your work apart from other wedding planners?”
AG: “Our ability to make our couples feel prioritised. We only take on a limited number of weddings each year to dedicate as much time as needed to our couples to fully understand all their options and feel confident about the decisions they’re making. We are aware that logistics feels overwhelming from overseas so we act as their eyes and ears on the ground so the process is calm and clear even from thousands of miles away…”
