ITALY: SAVINA MORANDOTTI

I’m a wedding planner and also a wedding designer; in my work, I accompany couples throughout the entire journey leading to their wedding day, holding their hands – almost literally – every step of the way. While I’ve been a full-time wedding planner for 10 years, I’ve actually been working in the wedding industry for over twenty and I still absolutely love it. Every year brings new and greater rewards, and my desire to grow professionally and provide an even better experience never fades…”

Italian wedding planner Savina Morandotti‘s studio is located in a small village along the Po River, positioned on the border between Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. She normally works in these quiet, charming local areas to the north of the country that include Piedmont and Liguria, but is also happy to go wherever the work takes her…

C&B: “Savina, you are located in one of the most beautiful areas of your home country; when and why did you start your business?”

SM: “I founded my business in 2016. After graduating with a degree in Public Relations and experiencing in event planning, I entered the world of high-end catering and banqueting in 2004. During those 12 years, I consolidated my expertise in wedding banquets and realised I wanted to focus my role on creativity and communication, so I decided to start my own venture. To consolidate my planning skills, I worked alongside a wedding planner for a year. In 2016, with the support of long-standing trusted suppliers who believed in my vision, I started my business successfully from the very beginning…”

I am a huge fan of Oltrepò Pavese and Monferrato, which are full of breathtaking venues and incredible wines. I also adore the hills around Parma and Piacenza, with their magnificent castles and exceptional culinary traditions…”

C&B: “Who are your typical clients and how do they hear about you?”

SM: “My clients are couples who want to be guided through every step of the process because they dream of a wedding that is beautiful, perfectly organised, and a true reflection of who they are. Most of them find me via my Instagram page or my website, but more and more often, it happens thanks to collaborations with top professionals of the wedding industry…”

C&B: “What unique elements or techniques would you say you incorporate into your weddings to make your service distinctive?”

SM: “Anyone who has worked with me knows that empathy and being truly present for my clients are my best skills. This creates a natural, sincere connection, leading to bespoke projects that aren’t just exclusive, but deeply moving because they mirror who the couple really is. My favourite feedback is that the experience far exceeded expectations…”

C&B: “How far in advance do clients need to book your service?”

SM: “I recommend to contact me at least one year before the event as I intentionally limit the number of weddings so that I can give every couple the personal attention and care they deserve…”

Many wedding locations hold a special place in my heart; they provide the perfect backdrop for my arrangements and offer guests an experience of genuine beauty. My top recommendations include Castello di Montegioco and I Giardini La Pergola in the province of Alessandria; Castello di Belgioioso and Romito San Biagio in the province of Pavia; and Castello di Paderna in the province of Piacenza…”

C&B: “What type of feedback do you generally receive from your clients with regard to experiences with your company?”

SM: “Feedback from both my international clients and my Italian clients has always been highly positive. Many of my clients who come to me from abroad have Italian heritage, and it’s always a joy to receive an invite or a gift from them when they visit Italy again later. What touches me most is when they tell me that after such a close and constant relationship over many months, they truly miss our daily interaction once the wedding is over…”
