One of the most common compliments from clients is that we feel like a trusted presence – organised, discreet, and committed to consistently getting every detail perfect…”
Sahel Rothera, Founder, Sahel Rothera Events
Sahel Rothera started her career in luxury service and meticulous attention to detail, beginning as a Chief Flight Attendant and service instructor for Emirates Airline’s first-class cabins. After transitioning to private aviation for royal families and dignitaries, where discretion and precision were paramount, she founded Mansion Models & Event Management in 2008. Quickly establishing an outstanding reputation, her agency collaborated with renowned magazines, designers, and leading department stores, producing fashion shows and high-profile events for global brands such as Formula 1 and Samsung. A pivotal moment arose when a client requested wedding planning, revealing the natural synergy between her event expertise and creating memorable experiences. After relocating to New York City in 2012, Sahel’s journey continued in VIP event planning and corporate aviation, culminating in a celebrated surprise party for a real estate tycoon’s wife that reignited her passion for event design. This success led to a flourishing business built on trust and exceptional work, shaping the company she leads today…
C&B: “Sahel, who are your typical clients and how do they hear about your planning service?”
SR: “My typical clients are discerning couples and families seeking privacy, elevated aesthetics, and a highly curated guest experience. They are often well-traveled, globally minded, and want a celebration that feels personal and meaningful, not generic. Most clients find us through word of mouth and trusted referrals, including past clients, private introductions, and long-standing relationships in the luxury community…”

While the best venue always depends on the client’s style and needs, five venues we often suggest for their beauty and level of experience include: Villa Balbiano, Lake Como, Italy; Château de Villette, near Paris, France; Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC, USA; Villa Canossa, Lake Garda, Italy; Villa Mangiacane, Tuscany, Italy…”

C&B: “What unique elements or techniques do you incorporate into your weddings to ensure they are extra special?”
SR: “Every wedding begins with the couple’s story, not a trend. Instead of recreating a ‘Pinterest look’, I create a vision rooted in who they are, their background, and how they want guests to feel. I also focus strongly on the full guest journey, often designing multi-day celebrations with natural flow, beautiful transitions, and intentional surprises that elevate the weekend. My background in luxury hospitality brings a true white-glove approach: discreet service, strong planning structure, refined styling, and a calm experience for the couple while every detail is delivered with purpose…”

Ideally, clients book 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for destination weddings or multi-day celebrations. For peak season dates and high-demand venues, 18 to 24 months is recommended. We take on a limited number of weddings each season to ensure a high level of attention and quality. We can occasionally accommodate shorter timelines depending on availability, location, and complexity…”

C&B: “Final question: what feedback have you received from international clients about their experiences?”
SR: “International clients often tell us they feel calm and fully supported, even while planning from another country. They appreciate how seamless the process feels and how every detail is handled with care, allowing them to truly enjoy the wedding weekend. Many also highlight how personal the experience feels, because we listen closely and translate their lifestyle, priorities, and family dynamics into a celebration that is elevated yet meaningful…”
