For us, luxury is never about excess. It is about creating meaningful experiences, genuine hospitality, and timeless memories. Our goal is for every guest to leave feeling they have truly lived the Italian Dolce Vita – not just attended a wedding…”

Sandro Poli is Founder and Creative Director of The Couplers, a company that designs and plans bespoke destination weddings throughout Italy for couples who value beauty, authenticity, and unforgettable guest experiences; every celebration is deeply personal and inspired by the people at its heart. From their studio in Florence, Tuscany, The Couplers operate throughout Italy, from Lake Como to Puglia, Sicily, the Amalfi Coast, and everywhere in between. Here we discuss style, themes, and dream projects…
C&B: “Sandro, a distinctive style attracts a certain profile of client, as in ‘like attracts like’ – how would you describe yours?”
SP: “Our style is elegant, timeless, and intentionally understated. I love creating weddings that feel naturally beautiful rather than overly designed. Every detail has a purpose, and every celebration should reflect the couple rather than passing trends…”

C&B: “How would you say most of your couples first find you – is it by word of mouth?”
SP: “Most of our couples discover us through referrals from past clients, luxury venues, photographers, and international wedding professionals. Many also find us through editorial features and social media, where they connect with our vision and approach…”

We love private villas, historic estates, vineyards, elegant castles, luxury masserie, and exclusive boutique properties. Italy offers extraordinary diversity, and we always choose venues that celebrate the local culture while providing an unforgettable experience for guests…”

C&B: “How many weddings do you plan per year?”
SP: “We intentionally limit ourselves to around fifteen weddings per year. This allows us to dedicate the time, creativity, and attention that every couple deserves…”

Golden vineyards in Tuscany, the gardens of historic villas, quiet streets in Florence, olive groves at sunset, dramatic coastal cliffs, and hidden corners capture the authentic soul of Italy. Beautiful light and genuine emotion will always be more important than famous landmarks…”

C&B: “The cuisine of Italy is such a major factor of any special occasion; what would be your choice for a classic Italian wedding planned by The Couplers?”
SP: “We don’t believe in a standard menu – every dining experience is created around the destination and the season. Fresh local ingredients, handmade pasta, regional specialties, exceptional wines, and interactive food stations allow guests to truly experience Italian hospitality…”

We are proud to collaborate with some of Italy’s most talented artisans, designers, photographers, florists, chefs, and luxury hospitality partners who share our passion for excellence and authentic experiences…”

C&B: “On to the drinks – does The Couplers have a signature cocktail?”
SP: “An Italian Negroni is always a favourite, however for every wedding we enjoy creating a bespoke signature cocktail inspired by the couple’s story, favourite destination, or shared memories…”

A dream of The Couplers would be to design a multi-day wedding that completely immerses guests in the Italian lifestyle. Not simply a wedding, but an unforgettable journey through local traditions, extraordinary food, remarkable design, and meaningful human connections…”

C&B: “Most planners consider floral decor to be money well spent as it helps set the ambience as well as beauty – which style do you like to have installed?”
SP: “Natural, refined, and architectural. I love florals that feel as though they belong in the landscape, using seasonal flowers with movement, texture, and an effortless sense of elegance…”
C&B: “Finally, music – do you prefer live music, a DJ, or a mix of both?”
SP: “Our couples usually blend elegance with energy. Live strings or acoustic musicians create an emotional atmosphere during the ceremony and aperitivo, followed by live bands and DJs who keep everyone dancing well into the night…”
