Over the years, our work has been recognised with several prestigious awards. I was named a Master Italian Wedding Photographer back in 2018, and we’ve won the Matrimonio.com award for eight editions. More recently, Lux Life Magazine named us the Most Dynamic Wedding Photography Company in 2024, and just this year, in 2026, they awarded us as the Best Destination Wedding Photographer of the Year – Italy…”
Matteo Fotografia, Italy
Matteo Fotografia studio was established in 2014, and since then he has built a team of 12 professionals – photographers, videographers, and content creators – united by a single commitment: complete, high-quality coverage of every couple’s wedding day. From the first frame to the final edit, the team takes care of every detail, handling photography and videography as a seamless whole rather than two separate services. It is an approach Matteo put in place from day one, and one that has defined how the studio works ever since. Based in the North of Italy, Matteo Fotografia operates across some of the country’s most celebrated landscapes and venues, bringing the same level of craft and attention to every project, whether a close-to-home celebration or a destination wedding abroad. Here we discuss
C&B: “Matteo, you have a wonderful portfolio of varied images – which areas of Italy do you cover and where are you booked next?”
MF: “We mainly work in Northern and Central Italy, but we love to travel. Later this year, we’ll be shooting a wedding in Sicily at the stunning Tonnara di Scopello. We do handle destination weddings as well…”

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with many talented colleagues. Some of these relationships have grown into long-lasting partnerships, while other professionals were trained directly by me to match my specific style and vision…”

C&B: “Which would you say have been your three most influential projects?”
MF: “My three most influential projects to date have been a wedding featured in Lifestyle Asia, a major international publication that showcased our editorial style; directing and producing Matrimonio a tutti i costi on Real Time (Discovery+), for which I personally oversaw the direction, filming, and editing; and our feature on Amber & Muse, a renowned international fine art blog, where we received an official publication titled “Italian autumn wedding in terracotta shades” for our cinematic direction and destination wedding videography…”

My five favourite Italian locations are Tonnara di Scopello, Lake Como, Villa Selvatico, Villa di Loro, and Villa Coccapani. They are all spectacular venues, and it is always an honour and a pleasure to work in such inspiring settings…”

C&B: “How important do you think networking and socialising with other professionals is to the success of your business – are you a member of any professional organisations?”
MF: “I’m proud to be a member of ANFM, the prestigious National Association of Wedding Photographers in Italy, which brings together the country’s top professionals in the industry. I firmly believe that networking and building strong relationships with other wedding vendors is crucial. Collaborating with top professionals allows us to exchange ideas, grow together, and ultimately deliver a flawless experience for our couples…”

My ultimate dream project is to establish our studio as a true benchmark for wedding photography in Italy, inspiring others and setting the standard for quality and creativity in the industry…”

C&B: “Do you have any interesting international projects lined up this summer?”
MF: “This year, our most significant project will undoubtedly be the wedding of an Italian diplomat who currently lives in Cuba. She is returning to her roots in Sicily to get married at home, choosing the iconic Tonnara di Scopello for her big day. It’s a deeply meaningful and high-profile event that we are incredibly honoured to capture…”
