C&B: “Firstly, Mandy and Jason, congratulations on being named on the list of CITY & BEACH TOP 10 WEDDINGS & EVENT VENDORS 2025! How did you first come together to perform as a duo in Rhythm & Gold?”
R&G: “We were always a musical couple but it took Mandy winning a National TV Singing Show in 2009 to give us the platform we needed to become professional musicians. Since then we have recorded an album – available under SPOTIFY as Mandy Pickering – had songs played on Radio NZ and toured New Zealand and Australia…”

C&B: “When you’re performing live, what type of weddings and events are you typically playing at – are they outdoors, or in more formal settings and how large can your audiences be?”
R&G: “Rhythm & Gold performs at all types of weddings – outdoors as well as very elegant and sophisticated indoor events. We’ve performed at high-profile celebrity weddings, corporate events, and for large audiences of up to 15,000 people. We regularly perform throughout Australia and New Zealand and occasionally in the Pacific Islands…”

C&B: “There are so many outstanding event and wedding venues in your area; which ones would you say have hosted your most memorable special occasions?”
R&G: “Stand out events for us would be singing for the New Zealand Prime Minister at The Beehive (pictured bottom, left), and singing for the Prince of Qatar at the prestigious Auckland Museum (pictured bottom, right) as part of the launch of Qatar Airways in New Zealand. Te PaPa Museum in Wellington also hosted us for a special fund raising event. Wedding venues that we love to perform at are Farm & Co, The Valley Estate, Summergrove Estate, Osteria and Tambourine Mountain Glades…”
After over 15 years of performing live music, we’ve become accustomed to being flexible and doing what needs to be done to make the event a success. Our performance package includes high quality sound equipment for small or large groups, including battery powered PA for non powered locations. It includes pre-ceremony music as guests arrive, music throughout the wedding ceremony and during canape hour. We also offer live music during the reception right through to the dance floor and we provide lighting and microphones for speeches on request. We’re also happy to offer basic MC services…”
