C&B: “Thomas, how long have you been in the destination wedding photography business, and what first prompted you to go into this area?”
TA: “I shot my first wedding in 2015. It was one of my ex-colleagues’ weddings, and it felt like a revelation. In 2018, I had a profound discussion with some wedding planner friends, and they completely transformed my vision of the market. That was the moment I decided to become a full-time photographer and offer my services for destination weddings…”
C&B: “Did you study or work with someone to gain initial experience?”
TA: “I first studied by myself by watching tutorials. I had the opportunity to work as a second photographer for Greg Finck, Oliver Fly, and Maddy Christina. These photographers are really inspiring…”

My work is regularly featured in international publications such as Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, Carats & Cakes, 100 Layer Cake…”

C&B: “Your style is incredibly elegant; does that sum up your USP? Or do other factors set your work apart?”
TA: “My USP is simple: I do everything possible to offer the best photos to my clients and also a unique experience during a wedding. My team and I speak English perfectly. We respect our clients’s dress codes. We also deliver previews right after the wedding. This is such a beautiful surprise for the bride and groom, but also for our partners, such as the wedding planners. Our only goal is to be completely dedicated to our clients’ needs and expectations during their wedding…”
C&B: “That’s impressive! Everyone is always keen to see the images. Which of all the beautiful locations in France and Italy are your favourites?”
TA: “I work in venues such as Château de Tourreau, Villa Ephrussi, Château Estoublon, Airelles Gordes, Mas des Poiriers, Grand-Hôtel-du-Cap, and many other luxury venues in France and Italy…”
C&B: “As a photographer, what would you say is your biggest challenge when working on a project?”
TA: “The weather can be challenging, and we make sure to be flexible and use the best equipment – flash, etc. – to offer a timeless rendering, even in these tricky conditions. Some of the bigger venues are a physical challenge, but we stay in shape all year to be able to face them and deliver breathtaking memories.”

Regarding major accomplishments, my biggest is being able to live out my passion with a high-end international clientele and incredible wedding planners in amazing venues. Another accomplishment is for me to be able to keep time to spend with my wife, Elyssa, and my family during the lower season of the year!”

C&B: “Your career sounds fantastic – meeting amazing people and visiting extraordinary, sunny locations – is it ever stressful? If so, how do you relax?”
TA: “My work is a pure dream. As a former lawyer in the field of environmental issues, my new job is the most exciting that I could have imagined. I’m focused and relaxed because I know my work, and I can also rely on my very precious team to help me when a wedding day becomes more challenging…”

C&B: “You sound like you have everything covered; however, are there any particular projects you’d still like to work on?”
TA: “I’d be absolutely delighted to work with City & Beach Lifestyle Magazine in the future. Creating lifestyle content for luxury venues and hotels is something that I would really love to do…”
C&B: “That’s incredibly interesting and flattering, Thomas – we do have projects coming up next year in the South of France and you’ll be the first to know about them!”
