TOP 25: ANDREA TRICARICO

I believe strongly in collaboration between vendors. The best weddings are usually the ones where everyone respects each other’s role and nobody needs to be the most important person in the room. I enjoy teams where people communicate, help each other and keep the focus on the couple. It makes the experience and the final work better…”

Andrea Tricarico, the Rome-based founder of Andrea Tricarico Films, works around the world as a destination wedding videographer. Andrea’s company appears on the CITY & BEACH TOP 25 INTERNATIONAL WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHERS 2026. Here we discuss inspiration, beautiful locations, and dream weddings…

C&B: “Andrea, your work is beautiful – what first inspired you to pursue a career in international wedding videography?”

AT: “I’m not one of those people who grew up with a camera in their hands or came from a family of photographers. What I’ve always had is a strong attachment to personal memory. I’ve kept diaries, photographs and videos, anything that could help me hold on to moments. Filming weddings became a natural way for me to turn that instinct into work…”

I work throughout Italy and internationally for selected destinations. So far, I’ve filmed weddings in Mexico and the UK. More than anything, I see my work as preserving people’s memories, something they can return to and pass on…”

C&B: “How would you describe your style, and how has it evolved over the years?”

AT: “I try to preserve how a wedding day felt rather than explain everything that happened. I like leaving some things open to interpretation, because memory is fragmented and personal. I want my films to feel contemporary without depending too much on trends. Over the years my work has become lighter. At first I was drawn to a darker aesthetic. Today there is still emotion and atmosphere, but also more life and joy…”

Strong wedding imagery is never just the result of the photographer or videographer. Good planning makes an enormous difference. With a great wedding planner, everything flows more naturally, and that affects the images. It is also a collective result. Flowers, music, styling, location, timing and all the people involved contribute something. The strongest films usually come from events where those elements work together…”

C&B “Could you share the most memorable experience you’ve had while photographing/filming a recent wedding?”

AT: “I’m not someone who cries easily, especially when I’m working. At one wedding, the bride had been adopted, and during the reception she gave a speech thanking her adoptive parents. Everyone was in tears, and I was too. It was probably the strongest emotional moment I’ve experienced while filming a wedding. At that point you stop thinking about the camera and simply feel what is happening…”

My favourite wedding venues are Castello di Bracciano, for its scale and medieval character. La Rondinaia in Ravello, because it almost seems to grow out of the rock. Villa Aurelia in Rome has a quieter elegance I really like, while Villa Lario on Lake Como changes with the light and the lake. Faro Punta Imperatore in Ischia is probably the most unusual venue I have worked at. The lighthouse, position and view give it a strong identity and work beautifully on film. My favourite venue, though, is often the next one. Discovering a new place is one of the things I enjoy most about this job…”

C&B: “What do you believe sets your work apart from other wedding videographers?”

AT: “I don’t let trends define my work. Wedding imagery changes quickly, and every year there is a new visual language, editing style or technology that everyone feels they need to use. I prefer to take what feels useful and leave the rest. My films are built around memory, association and interpretation rather than a literal retelling of the day. I like fragments and connections between moments. Over time, I think that has become my signature…”

C&B: “Final question, Andrea: What would be your dream project?”

AT: “My dream project would be a wedding where the place and local culture are really part of the story, rather than simply a beautiful backdrop. Somewhere where architecture, traditions, sounds and atmosphere become part of the film. I’m always excited by travelling somewhere new and understanding a place before deciding how to film it…”
