I think what I most want couples to take away is this: a beautifully designed wedding must always be paired with flawless execution to become a truly memorable event. One without the other is incomplete. There is a version of wedding planning that is purely logistical, and there is a version that is purely creative. What I offer is the combination of both…”

Valentina P. is a wedding and event producer based in San Diego, California, and Lake Como, Italy. She works with couples who value both design and execution, whether their wedding takes place in Southern California or elsewhere in the world. Her background is distinct from that of most planners. She grew up on Lake Como and in Switzerland, surrounded by the hospitality industry from an early age, and spent years working behind the scenes in venues before transitioning into wedding production. This foundation provides her with a perspective that encompasses both aesthetic and operational elements. Valentina creates warm, personal, and joyful experiences for her clients that feel effortless on the day of the event, as the complexities have already been meticulously managed in advance. She advocates for understated luxury: refined, intentional, and deeply personal, without appearing loud or overdone. Every wedding she designs features continuity and subtle details that guests may not consciously recognise but will undoubtedly sense…
C&B: “You images are very Californian in style – which other areas of world do you operate in?
V.P.: “I work internationally, and that is very much by design. My European upbringing and years spent working in the hospitality industry across different cultures have given me both the sensibility and the practical knowledge to produce weddings far beyond San Diego. My primary markets are Southern California, including San Diego, Los Angeles, and the surrounding coastal regions, as well as Europe, with a particular focus on Italy. These are destinations where I have deep personal and professional roots, and where I genuinely know how to navigate the logistics: vendor relationships, local regulations, venue contracts, and the cultural nuances that make each location distinct. I also work with clients planning weddings in other destinations when the vision and partnership feel right. A destination wedding is not simply about choosing a beautiful backdrop; it requires someone who understands how to produce an event across borders, time zones, and languages…”

For couples planning a destination wedding, whether in San Diego, along the California coast, in Italy, or across Europe, I would encourage you to seek out a producer who understands the terrain, not just aesthetically, but operationally. It is a genuine privilege to do this work, and I approach every wedding with the same care I would bring to a celebration for someone I love…”

C&B: “When did you start your business, and what inspired you?”
V.P.: “I founded the company in 2016 with a clear intention: to offer couples not just beautiful design, but flawless execution paired with hospitality expertise. I wanted to bridge the gap that I often observed between a stunning visual concept and a wedding that actually runs with precision and grace. From the beginning, my approach has been deeply personal. I take on a selective number of weddings each year precisely because I believe that every couple deserves my focused attention…”

Valentina Weddings & Events came out of a very natural progression. I spent years working within the hospitality industry, in venues, and in event production, and over time, it became clear that my skill set was best applied when I could guide the entire experience from concept to execution…”

C&B: “What unique elements or techniques would you say you incorporate into your weddings to make them distinctive?”
V.P.: “The most distinctive element I bring to every wedding is the integration of production thinking with design sensibility. Many couples work with a designer or a planner, but rarely someone who operates fluently in both disciplines simultaneously. For me, the timeline and the floral installation are part of the same conversation. The way a room flows for guests and the way it looks are inseparable…”

My clients are often professionals with busy lives who value expertise and clear communication above all else. Many are planning destination weddings. They tend to find me through a combination of referrals from past clients, recommendations from venues and vendors, and increasingly through online searches…”

VP: “My European background shapes my aesthetic in very specific ways. I gravitate toward designs that feel layered and controlled. Continuity also matters to me, meaning the welcome moment, the ceremony, the reception, and the after-party should all feel like chapters of the same story. I also place great importance on the guest experience as a whole, not only the couple’s perspective. Thoughtful arrivals, flow between spaces, moments that make the guest feel taken care of…”
