At its heart, my work is about people, emotion, and experience. Creating meaningful celebrations in beautiful places is a privilege I never take lightly – and I’m endlessly grateful to every couple who trusts Azalea Events House with their story…”
Aly Stoica, Founder, Azalea Events House
Aly Stoica is an expert in the art of event design and planning, specialising in the creation, organisation, and execution of extraordinary weddings and events throughout the landscapes of Italy. With a particular emphasis on iconic destinations such as Lake Como, Tuscany, and the Amalfi Coast, Aly’s work seamlessly merges elegance and cultural richness. Additionally, her expertise extends to Spain, where she focuses on crafting memorable experiences in the Catalonia region, particularly the picturesque city of Barcelona and along its stunning coastline. Combining an eye for detail with a passion for creating unforgettable moments, Azalea Events House embodies the essence of luxury event planning in some of the most breathtaking locations in Europe…
C&B: “Aly, what first inspired you to become a wedding planner?”
AS: “I’m a communicator by profession and by training, with a natural inclination toward creativity and a lifelong appreciation for beautiful things. When I decided to build my own business, it felt essential to choose a field I was genuinely drawn to – one that aligned effortlessly with who I am, rather than something I had to force myself into. My background in the luxury industry, particularly in luxury hospitality, naturally guided me toward a small number of industries that felt like a continuation of my previous careers. Weddings stood out immediately. Add to that my long-standing – and slightly melancholic – love affair with Italy, along with a desire to return to Europe after an established life in Dubai, and the path became very clear. Truly, where better to tell love stories?”

Florals and décor are foundational to our design process. Everything begins with understanding our couples – their vision, preferences, and inspirations. From there, we create a cohesive design concept together before collaborating closely with our vendors to bring it to life. We take our time with this process because it is essential to a successful event. Our goal is always to exceed expectations, never simply meet them…”

C&B: “Certainly the areas you have chosen are incredibly romantic – what is your design philosophy when it comes to weddings?”
AS: “We offer fully bespoke planning services, which means we are completely flexible in how and when couples choose to work with us. Some invite us in from the very beginning, others midway through their planning journey, and some closer to the wedding date for month-of or day-of coordination. My personal philosophy is simple: every couple – and especially every bride – deserves their magic. I love witnessing the moment when an imagined vision becomes real and seeing that happiness reflected in their eyes. My favorite moment at every wedding is when the couple meets at the altar. It never fails to move me. That moment is pure emotion, pure joy – and yes, I always tear up a little!”’
C&B: “How do you incorporate the unique cultural elements of each location into your wedding designs?”
AS: “Cuisine is often the most natural and expressive way to introduce local culture into a celebration. Thankfully, when working in Italy and Spain, this is both easy and joyful. From authentic flavours to regional traditions, food becomes a powerful storytelling element – one that guests connect with instantly and emotionally. It’s also a creative and playful way to surprise guests with a sense of place: a burrata bar, a prosecco wall, or small gifts inspired by the colours and prints of the Amalfi Coast are just a few ways we weave local character into the flow of the day…”

Our top European locations include Lake Como – for the scenery, the emotion, and the timeless feeling. A personal favourite along the lake’s shores are Tremezzo and Tremezzina, with their iconic views and venues that we always look forward to returning to. Bellagio is another favourite, perfectly placed to offer a little bit of everything: stunning views, iconic hotels and venues steeped in tradition, top-tier service, vibrant colour, and a lively atmosphere all year round. Barcelona’s coast is also a favourite for its creativity and the playful energy it inspires across so many types of events…”

C&B: “How do you tailor your services to meet the needs of your international clients when planning a wedding in Europe?”
AS: “Through truly bespoke service. Full planning, flexibility, and hands-on involvement from me as the lead designer at Azalea Events House ensure that every couple feels supported, understood, and confidently guided throughout the entire process, no matter where they are in the world. Also, English is my first language, and the majority of our clients are native English speakers. I speak five languages in total – Italian and Spanish included – so communication is never a concern…”
C&B: “Can you share some of the most memorable weddings or events you have planned?”
AS: “Every season brings a few favourites. One particularly dear project was Em & Gio’s recent wedding weekend on the Catalonian coast, with the ceremony set on a breathtaking Roman-style terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The design was a dream, but even more special was the couple themselves. Another heartfelt celebration was an intimate family wedding in Tuscany for Nicole & Joe. Their warmth was palpable – you could feel the love they share simply by being around them and their family. Their motto, ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade’, inspired subtle citrus details woven throughout the day. We created a truly authentic, warm, and delicious Tuscan experience for them. Rachel was another unforgettable bride – one of my absolute dearests from the season. Her vision was bold and confident: maximal colour, expressive florals, statement vases, and patterned dinnerware. The result was a luxurious, vibrant celebration that gave us full creative freedom – and we loved every moment of it!”

We always prioritise working with local vendors when we’re contracted for a new project. Local talent is what truly brings an event to life, especially for destination weddings where couples want an authentic sense of place. Collaborating with local artisans and professionals is always our preferred to approach…”

C&B: “These occasions sound incredible! On the other hand from creativity, how do you handle the more logistical challenges, such as venue selection and vendor coordination?”
AS: “Venue selection is one of the most time- and energy-consuming pillars of the planning process, but that’s because it’s so important. The venue truly sets the tone for the entire event and defines its atmosphere and style. Any challenges that arise are best handled through deep familiarity with the venue, strong relationships with local vendors, and working alongside a well-established team experienced in that space. When it comes to coordinating the vendor team, communication is almost always the solution. Clear, direct exchanges between all parties, thorough briefings before the day begins, and thoughtful de-briefs afterward…”
C&B: “How do you ensure that each wedding you plan feels unique and personalised?”
AS: “By creating a bespoke design for every couple. We listen closely to their wishes and vision, then support them creatively within those boundaries. Some couples are more adventurous, others more refined, and our role is to honour that balance while guiding the overall aesthetic with intention and care…”
C&B: “What themes do you see emerging in the wedding industry for 2026?”
AS: “The Pantone colour of the year for 2026 has already been revealed as Cloud Dancer, which really highlights a return to white-on-white weddings, and we love that and always will. Drapery is definitely here to stay as a trend and décor favourite, and we’re big fans of the creativity and softness it brings to a space. And, after years of gold having its moment, silver is making a quiet comeback as a colour pop. We’ve been loving it in champagne coupes, dessert cups, table linens, and even candles…”

In bridal style, we’re seeing a lot of beautiful corsetry, which we absolutely adore – we’re very big fans of the ‘Basque waist’ here at Azalea.”

C&B: “Finally, what would you say is your proudest achievement as a wedding planner?”
AS: “The connections I make with my couples – sometimes even adding them to my circle of friends. The emotion and happiness on their faces when they thank me for creating the wedding of their dreams – absolutely priceless. Being recognised and published by respected industry platforms is also incredibly meaningful. It’s a quiet nod from peers that I deeply value…”
