C&B: “Serena, what first inspired you to become a wedding planner, and how would you describe your design philosophy?”
SB: “I’ve always been deeply connected to beauty, craftsmanship, and the art of creating meaningful experiences. After more than thirty years as an entrepreneur in the ‘Made in Italy’ world, I realised that my true passion was bringing elegance, organisation, and emotion together, and weddings became the perfect place for this. My philosophy is simple: no two weddings should ever look the same; I refuse to create ‘template weddings.’ Each project is tailor-made with the same care a couturier puts into creating a custom gown. Every detail – colours, flowers, lighting, décor – must reflect the couple’s personal story. I listen deeply, understand their emotions, and translate their personality into an atmosphere that feels elegant, authentic, and emotionally resonant…”

SB: “Every place has a soul. Tuscany, for example, offers warm light, stone villas, ancient olive trees, and timeless landscapes. I study each location through multiple site visits, observing how the spaces breathe at different hours of the day…”
Every wedding is unique and memorable in its own way. C&B: “As many of your couples live overseas, including the USA, how do you tailor your services to meet the needs of international clients planning a wedding in Italy?”
SB: “Communication is key. We adapt to different time zones, ensuring clarity and comfort throughout the planning process. I have built a team of multi-lingual professionals who assist the couples with every aspect – legal documents, logistics, guest management, transportation, cultural nuances. I walk them step-by-step through video calls, and to build an even closer connection, I regularly organise pop-up events in the United States, where couples can meet me in person, share their vision face-to-face, and feel supported not only through a screen but through real human contact. My goal is to remove stress, simplify decisions, and transform distance into a feeling of trust and comfort…”
I start my planning for a wedding with an in-depth search for the perfect venue, followed by multiple on-site visits to study each space. Over the years, I have built a trusted network of top-tier collaborators – floral designers, lighting experts, musicians, catering partners, make-up artists, and more. Italy has extraordinary artisans, and I love showcasing their work: hand-painted stationery, Tuscan chefs, musicians, winemakers. Working with local professionals adds authenticity, quality, and a sense of place that international guests truly appreciate…”

SB: “Flowers and décor are not simply accessories – they are the emotional language of the wedding.
