C&B: “Katie, you have developed an incredible career that has helped so many individuals in the industry; what first attracted you to photography as a career?
KJ: “My grandfather was a photographer, and I learnt from him about film, exposure, and balance. As an art scholar, I’ve always painted, but I realised later on that I could paint with light through a camera, creating art from reality rather than just ‘capturing’ reality. This was a revelation to me. I’ve been a professional photographer for over a decade now…”

C&B: “There are many professionals operating in the industry, what would you say is your USP?”
KJ: “My USP is my multi-hyphenate creativity. My photographic artwork is so influenced by my priorities; with a paintbrush in hand, I focus on capturing dynamism, a sense of the organic, and my experience in the world of colours which create artworks that are timelessly feminine…”

C&B: “What type of projects do you typically undertake and where do they take you?”
KJ: “I’m very selective regarding the work I take on now; when I commit to a wedding or an event, the client knows I’ll be thinking of it single-mindedly throughout that period. It’s a prerequisite for creating the quality of work I produce as the level of delivery is intricate. We are known for the quality of our album collections, which stands as a work of art in themselves. I love travelling to new places, with new light, new challenges, and new aesthetics. Last year for example I shot venues as diverse as the glorious skies and vistas in Bermuda, through to the statuesque elegance of London’s St Paul’s Cathedral…”

I’m proud to say that I am frequently listed in Top 10 photographer lists, including lists for top wedding photographer in the world. We are featured in publications such as Tatler, Harpers Bazaar, Grazia, VOGUE and more. An accolade I am most honoured to have received is when my photography for Pixie Lott’s wedding was featured in VOGUE in their Top 8 Celebrity weddings worldwide…”

C&B: “Thank you for giving us this insight into your amazing world, Katie. One final question, how do you see your year progressing from now – do you have any highlights coming up?”
KJ: “Yes – I currently split my time between photography and industry mentorship. My exclusive ICONIC mentorship has been running for almost a decade now, and we’re behind so many of the wedding industry’s brightest stars – although ICONIC is a mentorship for anyone who works in the creative industries, not just for wedding creatives. I am so very proud of the stellar careers my ICONIC alumni have forged for themselves from ICONIC foundations, and I’m really excited to see the 2025 work emerge. Most of this year’s cohort will be releasing their latest work over the next few months, and I foresee many of them reaching the highest echelons of the industry…”
