TOTAL ENTERTAINMENT, a 50-strong production company with an emphasis on entertainment and activations, is headquartered in the New York metro area, with satellite warehouses in both Miami and California. We spoke with Marc Jason, founder of the company about the type of projects they take on and the secret to their success in a highly competitive area of the events industry…

C&B: “Over the past months we’ve seen a few of the amazing set-ups Total Entertainment has produced, from Bat-Mitzvah’s and top-tier weddings to Olympic themed garden party events. You’ve got a very ‘high-energy’ presence on Instagram! How long have you been in the business, and what first prompted you to go into event production?

MJ: “We’ve over 25 years of experience creating on-trend concepts; we love the creative process and often produce event installations from scratch. We offer our clients a wide range of design options and can develop something entirely new if that’s what their vision requires.”

C&B: “Did you initially train in stage set production or have you learned each craft as you go?”

MJ: “We all learned one job after another, working with skilled teams that are powered by creative talent…”

Come laugh with us; we’re a fun group, and we’d love for you to meet our team!”

C&B: “What would you say is your USP? What differentiates you from others in a similar business in your geographic area?”

MJ: “We’re humble, we’re hungry, and once we’re in the ring, we always show hustle…”

C&B: “It sounds like you’re highly motivated – very much the New York style! With so many large corporations in and around the city, what’s your typical client profile?”

MJ: “Our corporate clients are Google, Meta, and a bunch of new companies in the AI field; our social clients live in the NY metro area and Miami. The common denominator is that all our clients are always looking for whatever is new!”

C&B: “Your corporate clients have to showcase cutting edge concepts and technology; which venues do they generally choose, or do you offer to them?”

MJ: “Our clients like the classics such as The Mandarin, Cipriani, The Pool. Then there are all the beautiful country clubs in the NY metro area…”

“We recently completed an event in France, and we’d love to do more overseas projects…”

Marc Jason, founder, Total Entertainment

C&B: “What’s generally your biggest challenge when producing an event for your clients?”

MJ: “All those involved taking the time to do a proper walk-through while explaining to the client that certain services are necessary requirements, rather than options, if they want their event to be successful…”

C&B: “What are the current trends in music and what entertainment choices do your clients tend to go for at events you organise?

MJ: “Live and DJ music, all types of custom activations, and overall production…”

“We’ve produced a number of very high-profile celebrity events over the years, however I’d say our biggest accomplishment is establishing ongoing repeat business with our referral sources…”

Marc Jason, founder, Total Entertainment

C&B: “Event production is very intense; how do you de-stress and relax?”

MJ: “Every day, ‘24/7’, gym, gym and more gym!”

C&B: “Do you ever collaborate with others in the lifestyle business for added impact?”

MJ: “We do work with a very good group of lifestyle planners and experiential agencies, and we’re happy to say that we love laughing together and building these professional relationships…”

C&B: “Yes, working on high profile projects such as yours that involve very tight timelines and require great attention to detail, a close team is absolutely essential. Finally, what would you say are the main attractions for new clients considering booking your service?”

MJ: “We offer the full spectrum of entertainment for adults, teenagers and children – from weddings through to Grand Prix parties for kids; our price point does always seem to be at the higher end of the spectrum however our planners understand they’re not only paying for a quality product but also the good service that’s tied to it…”
